both are 3.2 MP and has 3x optical zoom.
LCD on ixus 30 is bigger at 2"
Video mode on ixus 30 is longer compared to 15 sec for mju 300 (no sound).
Digic II of ixus is faster than the old TruePic Processor of mju 300.
mju has an all-weather all-metal body construction.

If you can live with the points I mentioned above, I feel that mju 300 is a very value-for-money. As you can't find a compact 3.2 MP digicam with optical zoom at this price. Comes with all-weather too!

Thks for your valuable feedback. Will go for the mju300 as my first dc. :-)
