You have captured a nice shot which object is sharp and detail

try to compose object against brighter background to bring out the ambient lighting.

Hi Peter

What kind of 2X TC do you use? Kenko? Thinking of getting a 2XTC to work with my 100mm macro. Heard that the Canon one cannot be used.

Thanks.

Agree with megaweb. The details are great except for a dark background.

Just for the fun of it , my guess is that you took this picture in the morning? Set the aperture high (F16?) and at the same time high shuttle speed (1/250?) to reduce handshake with TTL flash?

Normally the resulting picture from such setting is clear sharp picture within a couple of cm depth of brightness, thereafter, everything else in the BG is dark, unless it is a bright afternoon of course...

Just my 2 cents worth....
