Default RED fringing appears at the edge of subject

hi FZ-20 owners...

i wondering if you guys encountered this before or is there something wrong with my FZ-20

i took several pixs of this object at MAX zoom.... with triport & timer to prevent shake... F/2.8, exposure time 1/100s, ISO-80

the object looks good in every pix... BUT have this red fringing appearing at the edge of the object...

is this a fault in my FZ-20? or can this be corrected through some setting somehow... need your expert advice... THKS.

Default Any filters or adapter added ?

Is there any additional filters added ? I'll have the pink fringing if zoom at full when I added the WA. I know this is normal for my FZ10, even without fileters added, there are still minor pinky fringe visible. It depends on the lighting condition of the site you are shooting. Brighter better.

According to Dpreview, it is normal as quoted.

Quote:

Conclusion - Cons

* Visible noise at ISOs above 100
* Very occasional exposure problems
* Focus at extreme telephoto sometimes hunts, occasionally misses
* Low resolution movie mode
* Some red fringing at 12x/wide apertures (rarely seen in prints)
* Mode dial too easy to knock in use, changing modes
* Images can look a little soft viewed at 100% - sharpen up well though
Peace!!

That's not a camera fault la. If you read DPreview, it did mention on this.

ahh DSLR doesn't mean no fringing too. Depends on the lens you have. Overall, the DZ20 has a very good lens. It's fast and it's got a great reach...don't change unless you really need the functions of a dslr.

Fringing might be due to harsh light source too. Try moving about as u compose ur pictures, some might just be better than others. For me using a FZ-10, i encounter purple fringing some of the times too.

Oh yah, when you are using a tripod, try to switch ur OIS off, and use a timer to shoot, like set a 2 sec timer. or maybe call panasonic to request for ways to order a cable remote.

Happy shooting, FZ-20 is overall a very nice camera, and if u are doing landscape shoot, a 9 point focus might be a good option oso...

Cheers...
