Taken with R72 + ND8 filters attached. Camera is in Nightshot mode (Only for certain Sony camera which flips the hot mirror up).

Postprocessing: http://www.pbase.com/catson/color_infrared_workflow

I find that my IR photos are not as colorful as the ones taken with a dslr. Anyone can enlighten me on this?

Helo Eternity,

Your results are great...!

Is the ND8 filter realy needed ?... I would like to see something without it !

My guesis that you can take very excellelnt IR photo's with your Sony Camera !!

Keep us posted... I would like to see more !

Cheers.

P.S.
My comments on your posted photo's is true... I like them !!! No 2+3 are realy good.

Keep posting !

Thx.

I learned IR photography from dpreview Sony forum. Most of them owned a dslr but used Sony cams like F717 to take IR pics.
This link summarises the past discussions on IR: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...essage=7558421

Sony cams with Nightshot capability can take "see-through" pics in the day. Sony subsequently make changes to its cams. The aperature will be forced wide open and you will be limited to slow shutter speed (eg.1/8). ND8 filter is required to darken the scene, as the pic will be overexposed otherwise.

Agree with Pablo and Ark19, #2 is nice.

Just me, I prefer a little more sharpness in that pic like #1.

Nice shots anyway.

Have very often wondered what effect would having a ND then the R72 over the lens on the D70.
