it is neither. it just uses nikon lens and a nikon body shell. all the insides are rather fuji.
the sensor is way different from not only nikon but also canon and others. It's a class on it's own.
no point in this thread really..

i would like to think that the S3pro is a Nikon-compatible DSLR, accepting Nikon lenses. Fujifilm uses their proprietory super CCD sensor as well as their own image processor, only the lenses are from Nikon.

Fujifilm has been in the race for DSLR almost right from the beginning, starting from the Fujix DS-515/Nikon E2N back in 1995, where i had the chance of seeing it demo to me due to my work, but it was too costly then so my company didnt buy...

IMHO the S3pro (RRP $3999) is a value for $ DSLR @ 12mp, maybe comparable to the D2x (RRP $7999), though i'm not sure yet.

as i once owned the S1pro 4.5yrs ago, the results from then were good, comparable to the D1 then. IMHO the S3pro is a "poor man's" 12mp DSLR, if u dun have $ to buy the D2x...

just my .3 mp worth...

Not all electronics by Fuji. I believe the Fuji use Nikon main body structure, shutter, mirror, prism, AF, metering, flash control, lens control electronics. The CCD, post-processing, user interface, external interface etc are all Fuji. That's why the S2 pro has two batteries, one for the Nikon electronics and one for the Fuji electronics.

the S3pro now is powered only by 4 x AA batt...they have taken out the cumbersome 2 x LR44 batt

And so the only thing you could think of was to respond with a post like this? Seriously. Let your pictures do the talking, not your equipment.
Does it matter what people think about your camera?

If you think i'm just another Fuji user who's biased, nice try...i've got both.
I think the prime concern of this post has been revealed, and it should be locked.

There was a statement "8. All in all, its a Fake Nikon !" that was deleted.

So you've edited your post then directed us there.

Cheesecake, thanks for understanding, hope that nikon owners do not hate other camera makes.

All system is good to me, no matter what brand!

Borrowing our nikon system n putting a mid-rang cam "S3pro" on top of ALL nikon D cameras is something i cannot swallow!

Just like infront of u says you'r good friend, n poke a knife behind u!
