Default SC-17 or SC-29 for D70 and SB800?

Hi guys,

Simple question, can i use the SC-17 with my D70 and SB800? Or must i use the SC-29?

I heard the SC-29 is iTTL but not the SC-17, is this true?

Thanks!
Ervine

U can use SC-17/SC-28/SC-29 on D70 with SB800/SB600, and with all the i-TTL capabilities.

Correct me if I'm wrong:

The SC-17 is just 'extension cable'.

The SC-29 can project the AF Assist grid from the hotshoe mount portion, hence even flash is position sideway, the grid is still projected from the same direction of the camera.

Nope, i-TTL remains, these cords are all TTL cords.

I think SC-17 won't work with i-TTL. It's meant for non DX flash such as SB-28 with film SLRs. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

SC-17 and SC-28 is basically the same, the difference is SC-17 is grey, SC-28 is black. And SC-28's hotshoe adapter has a level locking mechanism while SC-17 is a thumb-screw locking mechanism, all else is the sale.

As for SC-29, it's black, hotshoe adapter has a level-locking mechanism, there's an additional of AF-assist lamp (2 in fact) on the hotshoe adapter.
