Any standard restriction to max length allowed on board plane?
I was stopped at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport from carrying a Sirui T-1205X attached with a short column measuring about 29cm. Was told their max length is 20cm!!, I thought international standard is 39 cm? In desperation, I dismantle the legs into separate pieces, which is still longer than the 20 cm the officer specified....in the end he relented and let me pass....so I guess unless its a gorilla pod which is flexible and can be twisted shorter, practically all tripod would not be allowed onboard China Airline....in Taiwan, had no problem at Changi.
