http://www.splashdowndivers.com/phot...p_settings.htm

both 5050 and 5060 has similar functions..

u can also chk out the Interesting Articles threads... u may able to find more useful info in there..

now that Chris queries have been answered by Siaoon......

I have never shot with a C-5060. I own a C-5050, but seriously, I hv not taken more than 36 pics with it underwater.

I'll let the C-5050 and C-5060 users add to this, as they are more knowledgeable. In fact their pics are now as good as mine , if not better. Afterall I didn;t win anything in the recent photo competitions

well there's no fixed setting i guess, cos as condition differs, the settin have to change, its best you try shooting different setting in a single item and see which one turns out best,

5060 will record the exif info which you can refer to and see what setting you had set of that photo.

as for white balance, i use auto. i think some of them use cloudy to get a warmer feel rite?

if there's a perfect setting then everyone would be a pro hehe

wah... u juz didnt post up yr killer shots only mah...!!
we amatuer photo takers got lotsa room to learn from u DSLR photographers wor..
hee..
sorry for OT on the thread..

u may wan to play w white balancing function more often.. shld u wan to minimise the possibilty of yr pics turning out bluish...

remember the basic rules for UW photography..

#1: get Close! (for those w/o strobes, anything more than a metre away usually comes out bluish. But please be environmentally friendly. no touching, please!!)

#2: get Low! (try to go for frontal shots... or straight on shots.. unless u like BIRD EYE view pictures...)

#3: get Used! (juz keep trying.. heee..)

after dive, soak it in fresh water, if fresh water is not avaliable, soak in in sea water, prevent crystalization of the salt.
flush with fresh water before leaving to dry.

clean your main door O ring and grease and pack in zip lock if not in use.

don't keep your housing under the sun.

i do perodical servicing myself, taking out all the buttons and clean all the o rings.

hi all, first time post here. very luck to have found this thread as i just bought a 5060 with pt 20 a coupla weeks ago, and will be going for my first dive with it this weekend!

similar to chris, i would appreciate any other expert advice when using this camera, especially for its first dive.

i was previously using a sea&sea mx-10, and decided to upgrade after getting sick of 'nudibranch only' shots.....
