What's the shutter speed set for your night shots? Same speed as those set on your A40? I doubt so right?

For SLR's and night shots, you would need a tripod to get sharp slow shutter shots for ambient lighting. Unless you're shooting outdoor event where you'll use flash as the main light.

Yup! You can't set the the settings for AZ-1. And yar, AZ-1 is blurish in low-light condition, and is very prone to movement even in bright daylight. It's a common problem of blurish picture with ultra-compact cameras, like AZ1. I'm personally quite piss whenever I got tonnes of blurish pictures with my AZ1 too. But it's good enough for me to shoot documentation shots and post in on the web, or send it through e-mail.

If you're serious about photography, keep the AZ1 for convenience, and get a camera where you got more control.
