Anyone can recommend me a good Lumix P & S? Something light (for trekking, don't want bring heavy slr) and reasonable quality. DMC LC50/70 looks good to me. Anyone use before? 3 to 4 pixel is good for me.
thanks in advance, wooz |

Fx 7 is an ultra battery sucker lor... I think the output a bit noise too..
Why not fz3... small but still have 12x optical... good for shooting during hiking... small yet powerful |

ALL the P&S from Panasonic are GOOD!
![]() My suggestion is to get one with OIS, it really helps to get sharper shots, esp for amateurs not so good with operating a camera. |

I think it depends on what kind of trekking you talking about, and where. If i go for a waterfalls trekking, i wouldn't bring my fz20 along cos its too huge and bulky, and more importantly not weather proof. Heard some other brands have cams that are weather proof..

Don't get me wrong Shierly, I meant weather proof as in if its raining or snowing (when water can get into your camera). Some cameras are built to better withstand certain weather conditions (where they incorporate a rubber lining beneath the buttons to ensure water doesn't seep in), just suggesting to get 1 that suits woosy's treks.

I tried in Beijing and Tianjin during winter (-7 degree), no problem. As for summer, well, Singapore is summer all the time...so far no problem lar... I've even used my FZ10 during my Yunnan trip where at times there are heavy shower or rain, no water get into the camera so far. |

JimDavis, you tried using during drizzle/rain ah? Water never seep in? I quite scared to take pics when its snowing cos afraid that water might enter the cam. If spoil over here i jialat ahh... ![]() |

Concerning weatherproof cameras. So far, personally only seen the Olympus mini cam.

LZ series that abt to come out seem rather a good buy 2. FX series is good. both series are compact. FZ will be bigger (abit).

FX7, LZ2, FZ3. Either one should suit.

Thank you thank u all so prompt reply. Now so many recommendation i also blur. I compile the list : FX 7, FX 2, LZ2, FZ 3. Only one DMC LC 70. (why can't they come up with easier remember names?!)
To answer some question, trek no waterfall. Think kota kinabalu maybe. (still thinking, dunno can survive or not) Maybe go read up the specifications first then see how. Waterproof is good lah is not too expensive. Less noise and very important battery life. And weight too.. otherwise might as well bring bulky slr. Don't want to buy the best cuz still like film alot and don't want give myself reason not to bring it out. Ask you guys again if need help. wooz (its a her.) |
