Question: P2P equipment buying + escrow svs

This is slightly different from the earlier thread I posted in that I was wondering about buying from retailers in the earlier thread - as in, being there in Shinjuku or London or HK or where-ever.

While this thread is about transacting with individual sellers, without meeting the sellers (or buyers) face to face.

Which presents the problem: Will I get the money after I ship my equipment? Or, will I get the equipment after I send the money?

What are your experiences?

I have come across internet escrow services (such as at http://www.escrow.com) but yet to transact through them. Anybody has used such services before?
