When I started I was guilty of accumulating too much unnecessary gear trying to cover entire range from 12mm to 300mm and having top line flash lights. After realizing that some of these are white elephants I downsized my gear quite a lot.

Now I'm only using simple consumer zoom, 50 1.8, 85 1.4, 105 2.8vr and cheap yongnuo manual flashes.
    same here. i started with a 430exii, 17-50mm f2.8, 55-250, 50mm 1.8 and a 450d.

then upgraded to sigma 10-20mm, gave up the 50 1.8, traded the 430 for a 580mk1.

    which i then sold all, for a pentax 17-50 2.8, 10-20, 70-200 2.8, lensbaby

which THEN finally changed to what i now need,

pentax k-5, 17-50, 10-20mm, lens baby (for portraits and landscapes)

fuji x100, for my walk about, work in progress camera.

which is expected to change again, to suit whateva projects i'm going to take up.

    I went from 1000D with sigma 70-300 and 50/1.8 to a 60D with tamron 17-50. Then to 5d2 with 28-75, 17-40, 70-200 f4 usm, 50/1.4 then still holding sigma 70-300. Buy omd with 14, 20, 45mm lenses. Then k5 with tamron 17-50 and sigma 10-20 and tamron 90.

Realised no need coz all end up in dry cabinet. One person cannot use so many stuff. Now sell all the m43 setup and all canon lenses except 50/1.4. Thinking of offloading even more. It is an inevitable process. Some learn it the expensive way, i'm lucky only my m43 setup is first hand so my loss is reduced.

At the end of the day we all hear and know people say only buy what is needed, not wanted. But end up wants also can be twisted into needs. I'm lucky i didn't lose even more than some.

ok lah. mine usually catered to my needs one. i was covering events back then, so inevitable needed the flash and fast lenses.

now i'm more geared towards exhibitions and projects. usually will take my time to shoot. so no need all the heavy guns liao.

Consider a Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 len... you will love the wide angle and in lowlight condition.

With all the rampant misuse of the word, I'm actually beginning to believe there is. :P

TS, your set up is good as it is. Make full use of it.

You can read the filters FAQ thread. Also, the previous 100+ "nd filters" threads. And you need to know what nd filters do and how they are rated, then you will know which to get for the shot you need.

Suddenly saw this, wondering why the mention of Cosplay and the tone of the paragraph suggest negative feelings to it?

There's a comprehensive filter guide on sticky here.

There are many brands of ND filters and 2 types (screw on or square type). Which type depends on your preference, if you need to use GND, then go with square. If just ND, I would prefer screw on.
