Default IR photography?

Good news! (At least I think so...) I tested out the fz20 with the first step in the "Instruction on how to do Infrared Photography with your Digicam" thread.

And the fz20 is able to see the pink light! Cool... Can consider another form of photography already. Now all I need is a Hoya R72 filter.

In case anyone is wondering what is IR photography, here's a sample.

Cheers...

I've tried it. It can take IR shots but the results are pretty bad. Too much noise.

Do you still have a sample with you? If got time one day can post for us to see? It'll be interesting to know what happened when fz20 tries IR.

You said that it was noisy. Would a noise reduction program work?

Bro,

I know your feeling. I am like you when I got to know about the facts. Hehehe

U can try looking under dpreviews, under Pana forum, try do a word search for IR photography. There are ppl post the pic but to be frank, it wasnt that fantastic.

Probably because FZ series have IR filter in built, that why all the IR are being filtered out before they reach the CCD, hence pretty slim chance u can get a good IR shot.

Cheers...

Hey bros... Sigh... Thanks for easing me into the fact that the fz20 can't do decent IR shots.

But it's ok! The world is still a beautiful place, and photo opportunity abounds everywhere! Woo Hoo!!! Haha...

Cheers josho, jbma, hongjia!
