A displayed set black FZ10 standard package, no free gift.
Info from the saleman that it had been dispalyed for around 6 months. Condition look good from out side with slight finger print on the lens, tested also working ok. Price at $699, option of buying another 4 years warranty for $28. A used black FZ10, warranty ending May 2005 base on receipt but warranty card unfilled. Standard package with below accessories: 72mm Konix UV Filter Panasonic Tripod with bag Original Panasonic Battery & charger (think these are belong to the std pkg) East Gear Compatible Battery Panasonic 64mb SD card Price: Still neg with the seller. Brand new standard package FZ20 from MS Color $912. Free 256SD, Panasonic case & LCD Protector. Anybody can comment on which set to get? Also can advise the reasonable price range for the used FZ10 listed above with the accessories that I can offer or accept from the seller? And do Pansonic need the receipt when claiming warranty or just the warranty card will do? Thanks. Last edited by donchua; 4th March 2005 at 01:35 AM. |

Depending on your budget and if you are ok with using used/display item.
If you are getting a FZ to play around before going into DSLR, ie u don't care abt FZ20 new features like TIFF, focus assist lamp, 5mp etc... I believe there are still FZ10 out there offered by some stores, just need to make more calls to check. Not sure of the price maybe around $700. Saving of $200 for FZ10 vs FZ20 can get u a few more accessaries to play around. If u have a bigger budget, FZ20 may fetch a better resale value next time you upgrade. my 2 cent input. ![]() |

imo, get either the latest FZ20 or FZ3.
why? you get the MUCH MUCH faster processing in the form of the Venus II chip. that translates into faster memory card writing, faster image preview, lower shutter lag, among others. no point saving just $100~200 and lose these features which makes the camera much more usable. but if one can get a FZ10, used or new for <$550, that's worth every cent. but I don't agree that the FZ20 will fetch a higher resale price... yes higher, but you paid more for it in the first place and it will depreciate all the same. |
