Hi
I've sent my F601 to TCW to fix the catch on my film door. They quoted me $85 for a metal catch. F601 is only going for $150, so that's like kinda steep. Have anyone fix this part of their camera before and could let me know whats the price quoted ? Or is there any other camera workshop around ? Thanks bros |

Hi,
I've had the film door catch break on me during a wedding dinner shoot. I quickly grabbed some rubber band, tied it up and resumed shooting. I sent the camera to Nikon for repair the next day but I can't remember the price. |

Got meh? I saw somebody talking to nelson was taking out a film camera as I noticed the back has a slot for putting the film paper box, and detaching a motodrive I believe.
I was sitting right inside spinelli's near the backdoor, was there with KT, KO, TMC and Watcher last night. |

if your F601 has sentimental value, fix it what ever the cost.
I just replaced my shutter of my F801s for $230 + gst. Now it is sitting in my dry cabi, many good pictures and memories came from that camera. I will take it out for a shoot sometime.

Don't throw it away.... give it back to me if you can't fix it at a reasonable price. I kind of miss this camera. |

you can try camera hospital for a quote on the film door.
i personally dun like TCW for their repair job,ask them to repair the jammed shutter for my FM,was quoted $150 and waited 2 weeks. when i go and collect the camera, they tell me beyond repair ask me get another used camera instead.~!@#$%^& so i went to camera hospital who get it change for $80+ in 4 days instead.. |

Hey dude, hows it going I kinda got it fixed using super glue, on my second roll at the fifth take, the catch came loose again and the piece is lost forever, so definitely gotta repair it. I'd never throw it away If i give you back, i'd have to buy another! haha same like you, i love f601 ![]() |
