Default Camera panning technique

Hi All,

Just come across the panning technique for digital camera, which we were talking about some times back. Just to share with all Lumixers here, particularly for those who like to try on sport photography.

Jim...thanks for sharing

The articles are ok in general, regarding panning....however the picture where there should be "panning effect" are not really there. In short "theory is there but no result". The only good panning shots are the middle shots of the cyclist.

Panning effect is more than just blur background, the blur background must have a sense of movement as well. SK_2 posted some good panning photo sometime back...see here SK_2 Panning Photos

For FZ20 users, there is a "PANNING" mode as well as this will turn of vertical image stabilizer.

Another thing to note in the article is the way to hold the camera....in my opinion, that is not the best way to hold a camera for stability.

My few cents opinion.

Default Panning

well, you just need to know how panning works. slow shuttler speed and move with the object if you're station.

Here's my try on panning, a clearer version can be seen on my gallery.

Don't worry, FZ10/20 very easy to use. Panning too! My first panning shots were easily taken. If I, newbie, can. So can you! Only it's not perfect shots la....
