Personally, I feel that my shots are still way off below average. Maybe part of the reason is because of the background (muddy water, no choice). I also can't get the sharpness that Sgt.Pepper and Melvyn get. Any experts here can give me some advice and suggestions on how to improve my shots? thanks!!

Strange, it has green head and blue tail :P

Nice shot but the object looks slightly soft could be due to shallow DOF. Also try to avoid the distacting background.
