Default dust specks on sensor

i have 3-4 most irritating dust specks on my 10D sensor that starts appearing at f16
is there NO other way to remove them accept to send them to CPS or clean the senor using those swabs by myself?
i was wondering if exposing the sensor and blowing air (hand held pump) is suicidal ?

sigh.. i want to take some senic shots but i dont have time to clean it. there isnt a service center in my region.
darn it.

oh.. if i want to PS the specks, any good websites to learn how to clone? (is that the right post processing action?)

i did that too in bulb mode, hold onto the shutter release and use blower to blow.
beware not to release the shutter release.
mirror may hit the tip of blower if blower is too close to the sensor.

but is that suicidal?
will that blow a ton of dust into the sensor directly straight on?

sigh.
such a pain

no, not directly to the sensor, but at an angle of maybe between 30-45deg.

what was your results?
good? did you get dust off? or did you add more on? or did you merely shifted dust around?

perhaps this might be my solution.

For me, I set the camera to clean sensor mode and vacuum the dust out with a 1000W household vacuum cleaner. This is not a joke BTW.

been doing this in between my yearly visits to canon service center.
if there is a stubborn dirt, then let the pro do it.
otherwise, diy.

btw, no need to worry abt dust unless is visible in the photos.
dust is everywhere, we cant get rid of it, so just start to worry on how to take good photos.

you shoot at f16 very often? if not its not really an issue right, just send for cleaning or blow it off yourself (not a pun).

the only way to remove safely is to send in to Canon for cleaning.

cant be too bothered with it. i just try to minimize the bad practices that gets dust in - but can't totally avoid it, since i only have one camera body, and have to change lenses out there. have a couple of spots, but nothing disgustingly big ... yet

THANKS SCUD, SEHSUAN for your advise.

i blew my sensor 6 times, prayed and viola.. NO dust specks at all.
ZERO
nice nice..
went to niagara falls to get some awesome photos.
the weather stopped snowing and it was beautiful ...
clear blue skies..
used my polarizer..
i shot 95% of my photos at f22and above.
amazing...

if the dust was there, it would have been depressing

thanks guys

I think some of us are too picky. I clean my sensor only once since I bought it over a year ago. Never bother to check for dust, etc.

You don't have to be picky to check for dust.
Am I considered picky if I find blobs on my image irritating?

if you shoot at >f22 scenic shots, any speck is really nasty to your beautiful sky shots because everytime you flip through your photos on computer, there will be this black dot on your computer screen... same place, same position, no change....

its like taking a blob of chewing gum and sticking it on your monitor screen.

peace out...
