Ideally, Canon DSLR should attached Canon Speedlite flash for optimal results. But what are the consequences if attach 3rd party flash such as Achiever 115A/S? Would there be constraints in the following issues (see below)?
1. Would flash X-Sync be limited to 1/60 sec? 2. Would flash compensation be disabled or non-functional? ![]() |

1. flash sync speed is that of the camera. doesn't depend on the flash.
2. there is no TTL with a 3rd party flash like Achiever 115A/S and hence no flash compensation can be achieved via the normal flash compensation way. but you could vary the aperture settings to have flash exposure compensation. |

I am using the Sigma 500DG Super on my 300D now. Good result.
Function similar to Canon 550EX. Can consider as only pay S$400 for new one. ![]() |
