Good time to buy Canon 300D?

My Olympus C2040 has served me for 4 good years already and I now feel the need to move on to SLR cameras. Canon 350D is arriving and I suppose now is the best time to get the camera I've always longed for - 300D.

I got an e-quote from AP which offered me $1480 w/o gst for 300D w/ lens kit.It's still quite high I thought, as my budget for a brand new 300D is only slightly more than 1k.

My decison now: To wait for IT fair. Hopefully it will throw in more freebies and has the slr priced at 1.2k? (i hope...) If not, I will just get a 2nd hand 300D for < 1k.

Any advice/comments?

Even IT show will never sell at the price you hope for! They will sell around the RRP with lots of freebies and thats all! I suggest that you get it here in CS but wait for the 350D to arrive, then alot of the guys down here will sell off their existing 300D to fund their new toy!

depending how far u can stretch ur budget.
around 1k to 2k, u can consider a new 300D, 2nd hand 300D, new 10D, 2nd hand 10D.. and maybe new 350D. but i speculate it to be more than 2k..
i would recommend a 10D..

anyway, if u want to buy 300D, u let me know.. hahaha!
wait for IT fair also no use.. if u need those freebies, might be good lor.. free CF cards, free cheapo tripod, etc..

I suggest that you wait for 350D to be officially launched ... the used market price for 300D (plus grip) will come down further!

Any idea when will 350D be officially launched? If i were to wait,i may miss out on the freebies of 300D during IT fair.
