    Well...

Actually, there was a really good thread written by rueyloon regarding the "kind" critques made by fellow clubsnappers, especially newbies like me...

It was quite a good read, and I must say that it changed my perspective of photography... Kudos to rueyloon!

    Anyway, back to the topic...

In my utmost "total newbie" opinion, a good photo must capture the essence of whatever the photographer wants to protray in the shot... It must first and formost appeal to a person's emotional feelings rather than anything else...

Just a little question popping out from my head:
Are there people who tend to only look at the technicalities of photography, and ignore the "emotional appeal" aspect totally?
    There are right?

    Well, as for me....
Sadly to say, I have zero shots that are good, in my opinion...
(Well, what could you expect from someone who has put 3 rolls of film through his camera, and has never shot slides in his life before? )
Haha, I definitely have more to learn.

NB: These comments are written by a total newbie...
so take it with a pinch of salt.

Pardon me if I'm wrong in any part...

By "good" do you mean commercially viable as stock or fine art, "school" good like technically correct, or your friends and family saying "oooh. nice picture"?

I cast my vote as definition #1

I think it would be better if the question is rephrased as "How many shots have you taken that you REALLY like?"
