Default An elusive and uncommon Myna

This Hill Myna is an uncommon resident of the central forests. It is easy to recognise its call but very difficult to spot it in the thick forest from my experience. The strange bokeh is caused by the Hoya filter I attached to my lens.

Nice catch and nice pose. Looks like it's trying to poop though.

If I remember correctly, the hill mynah can imitate human speech, just like a parrot

joeyao,

Good catch there. If I may add, a hill mynah sings beautifully too.

Good catch. Have seen this species of mynah before at pet bird shops, as melnjes said, they have a knack of imitating human speech.

there is a pair at st johns. but in contrast to the ones found here, they like to perch in open areas and on high vantage points like raptors do.

i love their call, it's unmistakable and unique.

i believe there's also a pair at botanical gardens..

That's a pretty rare sight there Joe! ... and not forgetting the pretty well executed shot given the difficult condition, good job there.
