Ya that's the limitation of the movie mode since FZ1. unlike Nikon coolpix which can do zoom while shooting movie.

Hi Jack,
Though it doesn't zoom during movie mode, there's a turnaround.
What I did, stop the recording, zoom in a bit then record. <stop-zoom in-record> for a few time. Use a software to join it and tada, I have zooming in my video!

A bit cumbersome, but it works!

You might wish to try setting to Cont AF when using video mode.
I was taking a thai boxing match, and realised cannot zoom, and when the fighters move to other part of ring, its OOF..

Aiyah people... FZ20 is a camera that allow you to take great still photos...

For Video, why not use a video cam??

I believe that an equipment should do what it suppose to do well.
Any other thing is a bonous.

Cheers.

Not really though! I have done some very good VCD using FZ20. You'd be surprise at its quality.

ArcSoft PhotoBase. It's a solid software that came with Lumix.
