Default Photography and Travel advice on Brazil / Chile

I am going Brazil - Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Chile - Santiago in late Nov/ early Dec for work.

is there any interesting places in the cities mentioned I shld visit in these two countries, that would be interesting for photography?
Any other interesting objects I shld look for when I am there?

is there any special travel advice for first time traveler?
Is it generally safe to carry my DSLR?

    Many thanks!!

Well, for Rio, the usuall main attractions listed in any decent guidebook would be great, but for me, I was amazed by the street art there!

Just be mindful especially when going through lonely/less crowded streets. I didn't have any problems but there were warnings from other travellers.

If you have time to venture out (as in 2-3 days etc), check out Iguazu falls... truly amazing place!

I'm not much of a cities person, so similar for Chile, if you have time to venture out of Santiago, there are sooo many amazing places
