Default ID - Koel?

Thanks in advance guys! It is injured that's why it did not fly... what do you do with an injured bird who refuses to come down?

You let it be. Nature has a way to take care of it's own.

Both the male and female Asian Koel's eyes are red, unlikely this bird is a Koel.

Couldn't agree more. I am now more aware and more concern about nature than I did before. Sometimes we feel sad when we see these kind of things and the instinct in us may feel that we want to help but we are powerless. Let us just enjoy nature while we still can.

Looks like a coucal (centropus sp.), though i'm not completely sure.

While nature can take care of its own, there's no harm in extending a helping hand whenever possible. But if you have no expertise or means to handle an injured animal, best leave it alone and let nature take its course.

Ah I have saved an oriental scops owl in Sungei Buloh before... made frens with the staff and even borrowed their in house nikon AFS 600 f/4 for shooting bazas in the secret areas! Have to understand the birds are FREAKED out by us humans... have to do it swiftly/gentlely and wath out for the beaks/talons! Cover the eyes and put it in a bag, that will calm it down a little.

See this guy was in a daze, noon time... one eye swollen, wing injured.

I believe it is a juvenile asian koel. The eyes will change to red when it becomes an adult.
