hi h2o,

The second one is good, but i'd like to see more of a blue background.
using the 20mm i suppose? pointing upwards maybe better.

well it is alaways harder for WA as compared to MAcro. so keep shooting.

yup, i prefer 1st too....
more calm and presents the beauty of UW.
too much distractions for my eyes in the 2nd pic.

does waisj mean he like the first one, or does he mean he prefer more blue in the second one??

i prefer the second one. i think there is more focus, and better emphasis on the subject. first one feels a little bit empty to me. i feel that the first one's composition is somewhat not good enough ... cant explain.. me cannot take wide angle..

hi all,

thanks for your comments.........

waisj: the background of the 2nd pic is a boulder, so the background is black.....probably i may have to shift to the left of the coral and shoot upwards to get a bit of sun and blue....

i agree that the 1st has too little emphasis on the subject........i was about 2-3 feet from the subject and everytime i move closer or when i exhale...the fishes will take cover in the coral....i had to hold my breathe for quite a while......

I definitely prefer the 1st image.

To improve it, I would suggest going a lot closer to the coral so that the colourful anthias can stand out as your subject!
