That is why it is stated as "SU-4 type" multiple flash. which is why I stated. ON THE SB-800 only. but not other flashes.

Hmmm...
Firstly, I don't believe the SB600 has a SU-4 mode. It can be used to trigger flashes that support SU-4, such as the SB800, but it does not have this function itself. Secondly, and more importantly, to use the SB600 as a remote flash and to trigger it with the D70's built-in flash, do the following: 1. Switch to the CSM by pressing and holding the "-" and "zoom" buttons for about 3 seconds. 2. Navigate the menu by pressing the "+" or "-" buttons until you come to an item that looks like a horrizontal lightning bolt. 3. Press the mode button to change this setting to "On". 4. Press the ON/OFF button to exit the menu. 5. Press the mode button to get to the CH (Channel) setting and press the "+" or "-" button to change the channel to "3". 6. Press the mode button again to get to the Group setting and change this with the "+" or "-" button to Group "A". 7. Press the mode button again to save the settings. 8. In the D70's CSM menu, the one that looks like a pencil, go to setting 19 "Flash mode" and change this to "Commander Mode" use "TTL" mode as a start and experiment with the others at a later stage. 9. Set your flash at an appropriate angle to the camera, activate the flash on the D70 and fire away. Remember, Channel 3 Group A. This is necessary when triggering the SB800 with the D70 as well. Hope this helps. Cheers, Matt |

SB-80DX will just function as a normal slave. Guess it can be considered normal SU-4, since SU-4 only triggers the flash.
Pardon me if you don't know what I talking about ![]() |

I'm so embarassed by saying that it's not possible...guess I should be the one to RTFM...
Anyway, the steps that deadpixel describe, do work for SB800 as well...but what's the diff using that mode and SU-4, that is something that i'm quite confused...really really must RTFM... ![]() |

If you want TTL (in this case i-TTL), remote mode is the mode to use. |
