Default I just discovered the S2

I just picked up a new old S2 and a AF-S 17-35, wow, pretty killer combination. Strange how I haven't discovered the old S2 a lot sooner. Being a Canon shooter, this particular setup seems to blow a lot of the Canon super wide angle glass away. I like the deep colors and clear contrast. All this straight out of the camera and with minimal edits.

Here are some results from a recent trip to the US.

Luscombe 8A Silvare
North American T-28 Trojan
Lockheed F-104 Starfighter

Hey, that might be a brilliant idea. I'd probably save a ton of $$$ doing just that.

The 1DmkII is a speed demon, the S2 doesn't even come close in that regard so I doubt I'll be dumping my C gear for F. I kinda like the idea of having 2 seperate systems though.

why? becos of the reported problems with the CCD?

terence -

awesome pics! really demonstrated the 'rite-out-of-cam' richness in colours of the s2pro.

No problems with the CCD so far, it's a 31A. Coming to 2 yrs now though it looks like it's a month old. Previous owner said the CCD was never replaced and it's been through about 7k frames already. Hope it keeps going strong, I think this one is a keeper... well, maybe until I start looking at the S3 a year or two down the road.

thanks, bro! haha... no wonder on other fuji boards, its always a comment dat fuji seems to transplant their slide technology onto the sensor.

ya, in S3pro, there is a feature to shoot at the "velvia simulation" mode.... and the color is ....... u imagine it urself.

u can do it via PS but it is out of cam,....

think 10D can get only the light blue sky (the most) if you at the same time need to well-exposed your subject but the dynamic range in S2 & S3 are superb!!!

can ask canon to hijack their velvia settings and give it to us as a firmware upgrade?

Rather than ask Canon, I prefer to beg the Russian guy.
