The one-day workshop will be divided into two sessions, one hands-on trip in the morning and a debrief/sharing workshop in the afternoon. Much thanks to Nikon Singapore for participating so fervently towards making this outing a reality.

It's heartening to know that Nikon Singapore’s continued support for our community’s effort in bringing photography to the masses is much appreciated and applauded for.

Workshop Details
Date: 19 March 2005
Cost: SGD$20 per participant (covering of holding area, transport, 2 models, 2 make up artists, food (lunch) /drinks)
Time: 8am - 5pm

The date chosen is on purpose right AFTER the launch of D2X!!! Yeah!

Workshop Itineraries
~ Morning Hands-on Session Outdoor (8:00 am to 12:00pm)
Will kick off the morning with a briefing session and move on to the shooting location and break into two groups. The models will pose for the participants to try out their portraiture shooting and get to play with the equipment as well.

~ Lunch break (from 12:00pm to 2:00pm)
We will stop for a buffet lunch break at 12:00pm The workshop will continue after 2:00pm.

~ Afternoon Debrief/Sharing Session (2:30pm to 4:30pm)
~ We will adjourn to a meeting corner (*exact location to be confirmed, transport will be provided to this venue) where members will showcase 1-2 of their best shots they had taken in the morning session for comments and critiques by members on the floor.

~ We will also share some of our workflow processing NEF (RAW) images with Nikon Capture and demonstrate the powress of it.

~ Simple colour profiling will be shared too.

~ We are proud to have James (clown) as a guest speaker and live demonstration on touching up and simple DI skills!! Three cheers for James!

Workshop leaders/volunteers
Scanner, sykestang, AJ23, nightwolf75, KNIGHT_ONG, chngpe01, clown

I need not talk much about AJ23, his portfolio is all around the forums. His works have been once published in the magazine LightBox. He has also shot commercially for signboards and many others.

As for Scanner, he has indepth knowledge on metering, exposure and composition, also he is very meticulous on the dos and don'ts of posing a subject. Scanner also has good knowledge on colour management during processing of images which I think will be useful for those who wonder why their images don't match up to the colors like megaweb, AJ23, etc.

For sykestang, he has been shooting for many years and have experience with a lot of glasses that Nikon has produced thus far. He would be able to share the strengths and weaknesses of the glasses we're going to 'play' with.

For those of you that know clown, he's a professional DI artist and has coached several CSers in the skills and areas of DI. Thanks again James!

The workshop is primarily targeted towards Nikon F-mount users although users of other systems are also welcome to join us. There is a size limit of 40 participants with priority given to Nikon F-mount users. This test list will also give priority to those who've already placed their CS handles here when the official thread is started.

Payment Details
Payment for this workshop of SGD$20 (covering 2 models, 2 makeup artists, lunch, transport, drinks, workshop materials) can be made in person at NUG(s) to sykestang. The 2nd post following this will provide the timeslots for NUG and payments as well as confirmed list.

The following people have priority as I last mentioned, upon making payment, I will update the post with the statuses.

Currently will not accept any more reserves until they have been shifted up to the main list.

Form up point will be announced in the later stage and also the model's images will be posted up soon. Currently am working on squeezing 3 models into the budget, however no promises, but 2 pretty ladies are confirmed!

Workshop Updates!!!!

Hahaha.. got good news for you folks.

there are PRIZES to be given away (by courtesy of Nikon Singapore) for the top 10 best images taken during the outing, so folks, what are you waiting for?

The images will be judged by the participants & helpers together, the image that hits into the top 10 will walk away with very sold prizes.

FBBB - must come!! then (a) we got another MUA to do make-up for the other models, and when u done (b) we can also shoot the make-up artist! best of both worlds!

Oh yeah btw, it's outdoor shoot.

I will be at NUG tomorrow evening, so if folks wanna drop by and pay, you may do so also. For those that have yet to affirm if they're coming, the list will be reset in 2 weeks time and those on the reserve list pushed up.
