Default MO: Flash Bracket for $50each (Stroboframe look-a-like)

I have contact and have already placed order for 50pcs of the above mentioned Flash bracket. Expected stock will come in the 1st week of March.

This flash bracket functions and looks like the well-known Stroboframe. In fact this is the exact replica of the stroboframe, and it feels the same.

Attached here is a picture of the this flash bracket.

Price is at $50each. Interested, please leave your name and contact no here.

even the original stroboframe quickflip can't attach to the quick release without the plate, only the higher ends like RL-2000, Pro T etc can.

i got the exact same 1...

point to note... its hard to use with a cam with vertical grip, i mean hard, not impossible. this bracket is for use with a cam WITHOUT A VERTICAL GRIP!

i on the verge to modify it to suit a vertical grip... watch for it!

I used to own one of these. Initially, it's had to use the cam with a vertical grip using the original hole that is used to secure the camera to the frame.

Then one fine day, I realised that the "hole" can be adjusted. And so is the height of the flash arm.

So try different positions of the "hole" and the height of the flash arm to suit one's camera and preference.

Interesting. Is it possible to show how the setup look like with the flash in the vertical position (as in taking portraits)

drudkh's version...

btw, its heavier on 1 side... the spongy handle should technically be on the other side...

There is only one brand I know can do that... it's the Newton... http://www.newtoncamerabrackets.com/newton.html
but that will set you back $300-$400 depends which model you buy.

I have the STroboframe RL-2000 that is probably similar as well...but its darn heavy - can't handhold for very long.

Tiffen / Strobo does have 1 of this...

for the version sykes is selling is a quick flip = flash flip

for the one sykes link above, is a camera flip.

nevertheless, a slight mod like what drudkh have done is good enough.

Upz for sykes!

The QuickFlip is an extremely good, cheap and fairly compact flash bracket, you guys should get it especailly now that there is a replica version that is so cheap.

I have been using mine for coming to 10 years already (it was S$90 for the original then at cathay - now its like $130) and it is really good...so good that i even bought an extra as backup. since then everyone saw how good it was and the trend everyone started using too :P

At only $50 now, how can you not buy?

Upz for Sykes' MO!

I own the above replica and I must say the build and quality is pretty reasonably solid...shouldn't have any quelms getting one lah...especially so at the price...

Yes you can probably attach the QR plate to the bottom. the only downside is that it will probably twist around as you use it - its defiitely not the ideal solution compared to those with a proper QR plate integrated as those can be used with anti twist plates effectively.

the anti twist mechanism works with specific cameras only...i doubt it will work with the bottom edge of the quickflip

Wah... so many orders in one day. Anyway, the first stock of 50pcs will arrive ard 6-7 March 2005. Will inform you guys to collect. Looks like I need to order somemore also as originally a bulk of this stock is actually meant for re-export to another 'neighbour' country.

For those interested, please reserve yours on this thread first and I shall make sure CSers will get first priority in getting from this batch of 50pcs.

I have to apologise to Drudkh here as I really do not know that a MO is actually currently running in the Sentosa Outing thread.

This is really pure coincidence as I don't follow the Sentosa Outing thread at all, in fact I tried to skip it as I believe you guys know how fast pace this thread is... the numbers is growing by hundreds per day

Sorry if my MO causes any unhappiness for the organiser or any affected parties.

No hard feelings!
