Why sensor change? I would expect it to be covered if it's broken.

I would wait till he receives his unit back. I read similar claims from different NSC in the US already in the past (just browse through DPR). I have the feeling they will tell you whatever they think makes the customer happy. I mean what options did they have in his situation? Of course they told him with the next repair everything will be better. It's kind of funny he received his camera back just on the day they got new instructions. Odd coincidence...

I think many people here have been base on distorted news that is history we should focus on the current situation in Singapore. There is quite a number of D600 user here some envisage problem and some don't? Mine is so far are not having any problem since I bought it. Any brand of DSLR camera need servicing like a car they contain moving parts that can cause wear & tear. If there is a problem we should first rectify it and find out what cause the problem next find the solution and the best solution. You can either send back to Nikon Singapore or learn to do it yourself. Maybe our clubsnap forum should organize a crash course for its member. Someone here should do the lead. A proud Nikon owner. Cheers & good luck.

This Q cannot be answered nor given an answer to. Not being condescending here, but if your heart is not telling you to go for it, you probably won't either.

Just like getting married, one cannot be 'advised', if there are doubts in the heart, it will be a stumbling block.

I got mine 3 weeks ago. Loving it. So did many others. You folks probably will be ignored as there have been too many people asking the same Q over and over so forummers are getting drained in giving a reply to Yes/No.

My personal advice, get it, enjoy it. Shoot first, talk later. That's just me. 'Can buy or not?', I'd definitely say BUY.

p/s: Just checked my D4's sensor vs my D600, my D4's more dirty, and I just given it a DIY cleaning.

Of course it will be. You want less 'problems', there's other options to go to - eg: D4.

However, my first plug in of the battery to my D4, it hung on me. Subsequently fixed by firmware 1.01.

I also 'complained' to the shop on the D600 vs my D4, the $2500 I paid vs the $9K (early adopter) is well differentiated in many aspects. That said, I'm not saying GO BUY D600, I'm just setting the expectations right.

Sometimes, people think a little dust vs those that had a serious problem so they just classify as a same problem and make a really big issue. There are some with VERY genuine problem and some with the totally PERFECTIONIST (ultra clean sensor) thinking.

Like Murphy's law, "If it can go wrong, it will". Some just get luckier without the issue, some face it.

Hi...will be waiting for your update if NSC have managed to resolve the issue.

Will you also be able to share what they have done during their service of your camera?

    Thanks

I'm one of those who didnt bother with some dust because I never shoot beyond f8, SC five-digit.

Then one fine day 'gay-kiang', decided to use blower to blow sensor cause thought shoud be safe, who knows one big piece of dont know what dust dropped onto the sensor, yes I was careful or so I apparently thotso, ..anyway even f5 also became very obvious lol

Send in only say 'clean sensor cause dirty', but when I got back sensor is cleaned, plus its written shutter mechanism changed. Friday sent in, Wed collect.
