I was excited with D7100 features first, but still bought D600 in the end.

I'm also waiting for the "permanent fix" before getting the D600.
Any updates from you guys who got your Camera from the SC? Are those Oil Spots/Dust still recurring? Appreciate your updates.
    Thanks in advance.

    Short answer: Yes.

But dusts can be blown away easily, and oil spots are not visible by f/8. It hasn't caused me much trouble yet.

So if one always take photos using apertures from f8 and below, that makes the issue a non-issue.
That is a bit like saying the big dent on the left side of your car is not a problem. Just remember to only look at your car's right hand side.

This is not about any brand. It is not even about cameras.

I just find this line of reasoning, interesting but rather unusual.

    Thanks for the comment
What I meant was that I own D600 and it happened that the problem does exist, but before Nikon gives a permanent fix, we could find our own way to avoid the problem. And I believe none of us would stop shooting because of the dusts...
For me, most of the time I shoot with aperture larger than f/8, i.e., f/8, f/7.1, f/5.6, etc. Situations I use smaller apertures are landscapes with wide angle lenses. But still, I seldom go smaller than f/8 because with wide angle, say a 28mm lens, the depth of field at the hyperfocal distance at f/8 extends from 3 meter to infinity. This DOF is sufficient for most of the landscape photos I guess. And for wider lenses, the DOFs are even deeper, say 2 meter to infinity. Also, the best apertures of most lenses are around f/8. So I don't see it necessary to go too far from it.
Of course, if we shoot macro, the aperture will be so small that the oil spots become a big issue. And with these dust/oil spots, we have to resort to software.

Well i guess... To ppl who uses the car solely as a form of transport, i guess a dent might not matter much, as long as it still brings him from point A to B. It does its job right?

TK's offering the D600 at $2480 with all the advertised freebies.

Tempting... don't know to wait until the NS45 vouchers arrive or to buy first.

    the ultimate combo is...

sign up HSBC or Standard Chartered credit card.
both banks currently give you S$80/. when you sign up for one card.
I think HSBC allows up to 2 cards, thus, u get S$160/., of course, you can only use 1 card per transaction.

top it up with the NS45 vouchers, you can shave off up to S$160 (S$180/. for some) from your purchase!
