A month ago when my d600 reached its 1st 1000 shots i noticed it has 3 black dots and 1 fat vertical dust at the top left corner. I gave it a nice 30 minute BJ.

Big fat mama dust has gone and there are only 2 small dots left. All in all, i am satisfied with it. Depends on how tolerant you are.

My advice is keep shooting, break n for a while, and let the dust accumulate. Then bring it to service center for 1 shot.

I try using rocket blower but there are still some stubborn dust on the sensor. So i use the blow off duster and try with a few strong blow and the sensor is clean now!!!
But use it with caution and follows its instruction, if not u will see the vapour condense on the sensor.

I hope they fix that issue with later batches. I am glad I stuck to the golden rule not to buy from an early batch.

I think it's made in Japan. I might be wrong since they have so many different batches

Does any of your D600 make a noise when you use the camera sensor cleaning?

Yar, I'm just wondering for the folk with dust issue, if the sensor cleaning isn't working.

Where does the dust particles comes from?
From the video, the author's the lens was never changed and so the dust cannot come from external source.
If it is already in the camera during production, this problem should go away after a few cleaning but many owners still report the problem.
One possibility is the particles are release by the fraction caused by the moving parts like the mirror assembly.

When I own D700 some years back, I only need to clean the sensor once in a while due to dusts.
I'm using m43 system now and I never once need to clean the sensor for dust problem even after using the camera after a few years.

The flipping of mirror could be one cause for the dust but if the dust keep appearing even without changing the lens, something is really not right and it is appearing only on the left side of the sensor.

Do the dust spots affect the images produced?

The smaller the aperture the more it will affect the images produced. If you only shoot at f/1.2 it shouldn't matter.

Basically I won't be happy even if it doesn't affect the image much given that it is a expensive camera and non of the cheaper Nikon camera has this major an issue with dust.

I am holding back my purchase until they fix this damn issue.
