Default . . .

The Fujifilm forum must be the most inactive forum in ClubSnap, the last post was 5 days ago! Where are all the Fuji users? I guess they are very satisfied with their cameras and using them to take wonderful pictures

Anyone still using the S602Z like myself? Had the camera for more than 2 years liao, and it has served me very well... Was looking at the Nikon D70 but after all the research and determining where I'm heading in the realms of digital photography, it doesn't justify an upgrade for me (yet) though it's really the best dSLR (price and function) at this time.

So still hanging on to my old faithful - the S602Z

Hahaha, Fuji users are satisfied? Maybe we are all waiting for Fuji to give us better value for money.

Yes, the 602 is great, minie 2 years, too. And still shooting, and that is next to my S2pro.

Back in August, I settled at $1900 for a good but second hand S2pro over the new D70 of $2300 (with kit lens). Now I'll say the D70 better value for money, at a low $1800 with kit lens, especially considering better cross sync and newer technology.

i agree with what yowch has stated.

i like FujiFilm's S2Pro. the colours are really nice, warm and the skin tones are very good too. and that's straight out of the camera!

however, i don't think the S3Pro is within reach. the asking fee is too high and that's the main issue.

FujiFilm has very good customer support though.

Default I like FujiFilm's S2Pro.....

In terms of numbers Fuji users are not as many as nikon & canon user.
Maybe that the reason why not a lot of post.
I also like FujiFilm's S2Pro. the colours are warm and skin tones are
better than any DSLR that I saw, but thats my opinion.
You don't. need to shoot RAW just to have the nice skin tone, just used
Jpeg pic that's it!
also the RAW eats a lot of harddisk space, unlike Jpeg.

Heres a treat for you all.
I just call Fujifilm service center at paya lebar,
& ask them how much the CCD cost if I want to replace it?
Let say the CCD doesn't. work anymore.
He said it would cost you around $200+ .
I was surprise coz the last time the I ask Its around $1600+.
So its value for money, if you want to replace your CCD.
For the body it will cost you $900+.
Expensive? yes coz they will gonna send it to NIKON Japan &
we must pay for the shipping charges.

This is for your info only, that all folks.

Hi,

Was an ex-s602 user here... Just upgraded to KM DSLR D7D.. I would say D7D is even better than the S602z straight out of the camera needs almost no processing.. Very pleased.. Of coz.. I also notice that fuji forum was quiet during these few days the last posting was something like 4 or 5 days.. S602z still serve me well.. I am using it for Video recording..

Yes, Fuji's dSLRs are good things alright. S2/S3 - excellent out-of-camera images, great out-of-cam B&Ws, and the absolutely wonderful slide simulate images...

Maybe just toss a couple of sample pix to spice up this quiet corner?

out-of-cam B&W (S3 Pro)

out-of-cam F2/slide (S3 Pro)

out-of-cam color (S2 Pro)

out-of-cam night/no-flash/ISO800 (S2 Pro)

I was an ex-602Z user too!

one reason for the less number of posts could be the S1 Pro, S2 Pro and S3 pro users are more active in Nikon forums (due to use of Nikon compatible lenses, flash, etc).

I agree with mpenza. S1 is ancient now, S2 has been around quite a while, and there's the international S2 pro forum, and the S3 is pretty much way too expensive for the regular hobbyist. Well, that's probably why there's nothing much to talk about. And when it's about lenses or flash, Nikon forum is really much better than here.

And at the consumer level, yeah, new models are released, but they seem to be just cosmetic changes and some minor resolution up. No big ground breaking technology or improvements like the S602 or the S5000. Even the S20 and the S7000 didn't generate much hype.

Well...

Maybe I'll start a thread about enlargements from the S2pro sometime when inspiration hits.

I feel that sometimes Fuji cameras are under-rated, in general, they are capable of producing good to excellent images straight off the camera. But having said that, it is also important to know that the camera is just a tool, ultimately it is the man (or woman) behind the camera that is taking the picture, not the camera
