don't get the DG lens introduction, are they re releasing existing lens combos (like 50-500 under the DG category?)

sounds like marketing to me.

I've ran through the specs for the 'new' DG lens, seems to be exactly the same to me. Except the new lens have a "DG" marking and 'special' coatings on the front and rear elements. Thats all.

I think they do not have the means or resources to update physically every single lens (10 here) with extra elements or coating. Probably they just update the firmware/chip in their 10 lens and make sure they work in the most current DSLR from Nikon, Canon and their Sigma.

mpenza:
Do drop me a PM if you are letting go your 35/2.0 (Canon mount right?)
