Haha.. already stated that the batteries are original and brand new out of the box.

I think I do hell lot of chimping, I guess that might be the problem.

Are you talking about the same thing being discussed here?

Even on a Nikon V1 with the same battery as D600, I am able to squeeze more than 300 pictures out of one charge.

Maybe others can help you on this? Anyone?
I was in Cameron Highlands recently. Temperature average about 16-22 degrees C. I shot over 400 photos with review on after each shot. Battery meter show almost 80% after 400+ shots.

I do bring a second fully charged battery whenever I make a trip but so far has never need to pop that in. I think 300+ is too low and the camera should be brought into NSC for a check.

Back in the days when I still have my D90, I used it and shot in -25 deg C. I still managed to take around 500 shots over a period of 5-6 days without need to change any battery. By the time I return to Shanghai, I am still on my first battery with around 30% charge. Kind of feeling a little dumb carrying additional 3 batteries around. Never got to use them.

I think you better get your batteries and camera checked out at NSC.

I'll monitor the battery usage for the next week and decide if NSC is required.. that place very inconvenient

Even with a lots of extreme chimping, you should be able to get more than 600 shots la bro. The other case I heard of 300+ shots is when an eye-fi card is inserted into the camera.

In case you have dust on the sensor you can let them check both in one go.

Why not get an extra battery to test it out? If not battery fault, keep it as spare and send camera to NSC.

I can take about 700 shoots for my D600 and left about 75%. I'll then fully charge for the next shooting.

Already mentioned, I have 2 original. And I always have minimum of 2.

sorry, just to check if anyone has encountered high pitch whining noises when auto focusing an AF-D lens on your d600?

this is happening to me right now when I put my 180 2.8 D on the body.

it doesn't happen with the d300 so I'm pretty sure its not a lens problem. anyone has any clues?

Not exactly sure, but my 35mm f/2D was pretty noisy.

Same thing with my 20mm f2.8D. Way noisier compared to the D700.

Anyway, just wanted to share a shot I took in Sydney. Cropped extensively to show the area, but am impressed by the details retained when shooting RAW
