Default 8mm f3.5 Samyang Fisheye cs lens (sony mount)

    Hi there,

I am a Sony A580 user. I recently bought 8mm f3.5 Samyang Fisheye cs lens (sony mount). I have tried followed the instruction manual and set the shutter speed to +1ev and set to manual mode. However it still can't work.

Appreciate any expert advice. Do you think split focusing screen is required for this manual lens?

How does it "not work"? And why do you think adjusting exposure has anything to do with manual focus?

If the camera is not shooting with the lens attached, make sure you check your menu. There is an option like "shoot without lens". Enable that

Define what is "however still can not work".

Enable 'release without lens' to work.

like what Uncle Catchlights is saying, unless TS says exactly what isn't working, it's quite a waste of time to actually reply TS.

No, the focusing screen is not involved in the image capturing process when the mirror flips up. What you need is basic understanding, read your manual, read the newbies guide here. And be precise in your descriptions.

next time when you ask a question, be clear. don't give everyone the headache of making a guess. in the end, it'll get real messy and you might not even get the answer you want
