Default Noisy AF mechanism on new Nikon 24-120 f/4

    Hi all,

Just got my Nikon 24-120 f/4, and I realised that the SWM mechanism has this quirky "crackling" sound to the AF mechanism, particularly in AF-C mode and when it's hunting for AF. It's still persistent even with VR off, so it's the SWM mechanism for sure.

Googled around, and while this doesn't seem to be entirely new, wonder if this is a recurrent issue with the newer batch, or if I should go back for an exchange.

Hey bro, it will be advisable to send in to NSC for a check. When i bought my brand new 24-70 it have stiff zoom. After sending in to NSC the problem solve. No worries bro jus send in ur lens to NSC, they will fix it for u since it could be a manufacturer defect it is still under warranty.
