I had great fun in my last 2 trips to Huangshan.

Word of advice: bring only the gear that matters and leave others at home. Plenty of climbing mountains.

Does anyone have experience with Huangshan in December? I am gonna be there for max 2 days (17th to 18th Dec). Still thinking if I should spend both on the mountain top, or should I get 1 day in Hongcun.

I was there in March but it was snowing on the days when i went. Personally i think 1 night isn't enough.

December will be cold. No point staying over night in Hongcun. You can do it in 2-3 hours of lazy walking and shooting.
