We have Nikon in our group as well...

Photography is about interest and the right company... not the equipment.

BTW, I don't know where is the best location... to "chop" for you all... any advice from those with experience shooting fireworks there...??

Do you think going there by 530pm still can get any good place??

    Cheers...
    hi,

i was wondering... if u guys r driving... maybe the plot of reclaimed land direct opp the River hong bao might be a good place.. i went there taking pic during the Fireworks Festival last year...

    got good got bad...

up to u guys... quite big patch of land but unbalanced.. more space ard ... so not need to cramp into one small area..

I have hear from some friends that they are firing the fireworks around the area you mentioned right?? Will we see smoke only end of the day??
And its not easy to get there for those not driving... (I don't Drive myself...)

But if that area is really so good, and there is enough volunteer drivers who can bring us in, then why not??

No no....hire a helicopter and shoot from sky...even better, no need to worry about smoke, since heli will be able to move around and avoid smoke

the location i mention b4 can also walk to the shears bridge...

yes.. most likely the place where they launch is the end of the place...

must stay away as in not to get near to the launch site unless u got wide lens...

place is definite worth to go IF there is transport...

but must be careful... it is damn dark when nightfall come..

that time i witness a brand new car slip down the big "drain".. heng a mobile crane was there to rescue the car..

err... FYI.. heli shake alot.. even the best antishake/vibration reduction/image stabiliser cannot help you in long exposure..

Hmmmm...what about a spot light tie under the heli together with the camera man, that will provide sufficient lighting that do not require long exposure...

Think no one will mind. This more like an outing to share our thoughts and experience in photography.
