Thread: wats the resolution for 4R prints?

    Default wats the resolution for 4R prints?

    hi
    just wish to check wat resolution shld i choose if i want to print in 4R
    coz i just chose 1024*800 , and was told by KT digital it is not high enough to have good printouts.

    just to add => i am using ixus 40 now
    previous cam that use the 1024*800 is a40

    so wat is the advise, thanks

    send in the highest that your camera can produce. u don't need to choose.

    when you shoot film, you just pass the negatives to the shops to print. u don't change the size of the negatives.

    just a recommendation to have good printouts is 1800 * 1200
    Great photography is about depth of feeling, not depth of field.

    Min 1200 by 1600. The more the better.

    Photo quality = 300 dpi ( dot per inch )

    4R size = 6" x 4" (" is inch)
    to have 4R photo quality = (6" x 4")x 300 dpi = 1800 x 1200 pixel

    the above resolution is the mini. size for 4R photo quality

    wat abt 1200 X 800?? which is @ 200 dpi..

    coz i've heard pple say that for 4R development this resolution is good enuf oredi..

    It might be good enough, but of course, you can see artefacts and they appear as "Jagged edges". 300dpi is better.

    Most of the labs printers are based on 300dpi. Be it a Fuji, Kodak, or Konica. Agfa is 400dpi.
