otherwise, i really see no point in upgrading. the $$ is way too expensive. i'll rather spend that $$ on lenses. upgrading? no. i think S2Pro for me, is more than adequate. i'm a convert to Fuji's SuperCCD.. however, the sensor lacks a good body. perhaps my next camera will be a Nikon. the fujifilm software sucks big time, although the result that can be obtained and derived from RAF is marvellous. Nikon Capture is still the best with easy, friendly user interface.

Funny that here it does not seem well received. NorthAm and Europe it's a pretty niched pro studio tool.
http://www.eyesalive.com/ http://www.iso1600.com/ http://www.fernandomarrero.com/ http://www.leosorelphotography.com/ These are all S3 users now. 3 out of 4 are at least pro by Sg standards (or more). |

hi guys,
i'm fortunate enough to try out a s3pro for a good half an hour about two weeks ago. since i'm not an expert, i'll share with you my impression of the camera. when i first look at the camera, it reminds me of my d70, except it has a vertical grip of course. but on closer look i noticed that the control dial and lcd on top of the camera look quite primitive compared to the d70. the rest of the controls are cramped into the back of the camera. i think this is a problem when one 'borrows' technology from another company. you are not going to get the latest and coolest. besides this, i'm totally impressed with the feel of the camera. sturdy but not overly heavy. as for picture quality, it definitely delivers. the main difference between shots taken with my own camera and the s3pro is the colour saturation. just like what i read about s2pro, the s3pro colours are so rich. in fact, i've switched to vivid mode after i've handled the s3pro but the result is simply not the same. i've attached a few photos taken with the s3pro to share with you guys. you can check out the rest of the photos here and see whether you can tell which photos are taken with the s3pro. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
