Default Assange in Ecuador’s London embassy

Question: Why was he so dumb to insist on staying in UK in the early stages? He should have gone back to Aussieland or to Ecuador.
Answer: People like that live for fame. They cannot live without it. He loved to be in the centre of media attention in UK.

Question: So did he or did he not commit rape in Sweden?
If not then there is no reason to be afraid to go to Sweden. He is painting fanciful stories that he will be sent by the Swedes to USA, to be charged for leaking secrets.

Question: Will UK invade the Ecuador embassy and forcibly arrest this clown?
Answer: If so, then UK has set a dangerous precedent for all embassies. In future, dictatorships will attack embassies on various pretexts.

    1. He trusted the legal system of UK.

    2. This is a fabricated charge to stop him. Even if he did no wrong he can spend years being locked up, like in Guatanamo bay.

    3. UK is just doing it's job as US lap-dog.

I have watched a long TV documentary on Wikileak. Some Wikileak co-workers and colleagues hated Assange.
They said he quickly claimed all of Wikileaks credit for himself and basked in the glory of the media attention.
Wikileak operation was not a one-man show. Assange is probably just a scheming and selfish opportunist.

He's an idiot, that's all I can say abt him

By him starting this stupid Wikileaks, he already jolly well know he will get into trouble one day.

What was he thinking? He thought that the countries will welcome him with open arms?

A simple question to those who think he should go free... that Romania embassy guy who kill so many people in that traffic accidents also claim Singapore Government is out to get him... should he not answer for his crime ??

While I also believe that the US Government will get him if they could... it is still necessary for him to answer the charges against him.... what if those woman are your sisters or girlfriend... should Assange just be 'let go' just because he is famous ??

I'm more interested in Sweden putting words in Black and White that they won't hand him over to the US no matter the outcome of the trial...

It is not one person's words against the other. The women had admitted something to that effect. Just search for their interviews.

Then let his lawyer point that out... doesn't mean he should be set free without a trial. But to be fair... Sweden will have to guarantee he will not be shipped to US no matter what...

    +1.

I agree the whole wikileaks shouldn't give him immunity from prosecution for rape. But that doesn't mean the us should be allowed to get their paws on him.

For all his shortcomings he had the courage to start an organisation to expose issues when the conventional media bowed to political pressure.

well, no one at our level can tell what kind of impact the leaks will have on the relationships between countries.

but, he's an idiot to trade peace (even though it might be even a false sense of peace) for insecurity, unrest and trouble between nations.

there's social responsibility, and he most certainly isn't a responsible person. in fact, looking at the way he behaves, he's narcissistic and anarchist.

Assange needs a consultant with proven track record of how to make the slip away even from high security detention centre. We have one local expert.

Now that the Olympics is over, the British should have enough security manpower to watch that embassy to make sure that this man dun give them the slip and get out. From there, to cross over to Europe incognito ain't that difficult.

Let's see if the MI6 could stop a man like that from slipping away. They have the likes of Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig and Mr Bean to deal with this man.

    Simple.
    Let Assange stay inside.
    After some time:
    • the Ecuador embassy staff will get sick of him.
    • the crowds outside will lose interest and have some other thing to protest about elsewhere
    • the Ecuador politician will find him no longer useful as a tool to deal with UK

Let him grow old inside the embassy. Let him stay for the next 60 years (if he lives that long) inside. It is as good as a self-imposed prison. Then let it be.

Sooner or later, Assange's behavior will irritate the Ecuador embassy staff.
