Default Cannot switch metering mode on D70

Hi,

wondering if any of the D70 owners encountered this problem before:

I switch the camera metering mode to spot and then took a picture, after that when I tried to switch back to Matrix metering mode it fails. Press on the metering button + the dial and nothing changes in the LCD. In the end I have to switch off the camera and switch it back on again to change the metering mode. I have encountered it 3 times now.

Thanks
Calvin

Could be a glitch, check that you have updated all your firmware.

If it still happens, probably have to send down Nikon Service to check...

Finally found out the reason.

When I switch to spot metering, I locked the exposure by pressing AE-L. I have it set to AE-L and Hold in the custom menu. So even after I have taken the photo the AE-L is still active. This prevent me from changing the metering mode. After releasing the AE-L, I'm able to change the metering mode.

Hmm...this is new to me...Good to know.

Thanks
