hi,
just like CSers to know that if you are buying the stofen obmibounce for the SB600, remember to check that it fits.... recently, like about a week ago, went down to a well known shop in singapore to buy and was given by an stofen obminounce by the shop.... i asked to test on a sb600 cause i did not bring down my own.... initially the shop say sure can fit one and no need to test... he said the stofen obmibounce just arrived and is the new stock, so sure can fit.... upon my insistence to test, he reluctantly brought out a sb600 for me to test.... lo and behold.... it cannot fit !!!!! then he used all his cow strength and pushed the stofen obmibounce and it seemed to me that either the obmibounce or the sb600 was to give way... he told me: "see, can fit liao" and just at that instance, the obmibounce slipped out of the sb600 and was lifted about a feet into the air.... hee hee.... to cut a long story short, i did not buy... just went down to another shop today, and bought the correct one liao.... so, just check that it fits before you pay $30 for the obmibounce..... ps: the obmibounce should have a mini-step about a third into the length on one side, then that's the correct one. The old one, which does NOT fit, is straight all throught the length on both sides....

not so nice to name the shop and salesman....
the thing is, the salesman eventually let me try on a sb600.... so not that bad.... and i guess got nothing much to do with shop la.... just that maybe the existing stock they have might be the old stock, or even if it just arrived, it could be the supplier gave them old stock ?? many possibilities here.... i guess maybe some shops got old and new stock lo.... just warning CSers to check carefully before buying..... even when i bought today at the shop, i also saw that the shop had the old stock in the shop..... so, sometimes some blur salesman might give you the old model without realising it himself.... the thing is: CHECK before you buy.... just want to share this information with CSers... not here to bad mouth any salesman or shop.....

Maybe you should at least let us know which shop has the correct one.

Doesn't the SB600 come with a Stofen Omnibounce type of diffuser? Or is it only on SB800DX/SB80DX? Anyway, I very seldom get good results with these things, a white bounce card works better for me

That's why it is important to get items from shops you know that are reliable with knowledgable salespeople. Their overall credibility is based on the summation of these factors.

ya... the one shown in your pic is the correct one....
notice in the 2nd pic, when viewed from the side (the side with the wall, not the side with the mouth), there is at step like at the top of the obmibounce. this is the correct one. the older model does not have the step that i mentioned, so it cannot fit. this step like portion is to fit into the holder where the diffuser is kept in the sb600.....

I had posted the same in an earlier post.
http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthrea...ighlight=gorby The shop is TCW. The packaging clearly mentioned SB 600. It was only on me trying it out in the shop (TCW allowed me to do it on one of their SB600's) that I and TCW realised that it doesn't fit. I later bought the correct version from CP. I dont find TCW at fault that day, because maybe even they didn't know that it didnt fit. However, if Eric has had his experince at TCW, I am suprised that they continue to sell the piece for the SB 600 knowing fully well that it does not fit. cheers, Gorby
