Thread: Where to get SACDs?

    Default Where to get SACDs?

I just know Gramaphone beside Peninsula has a decent collection.

I just got a Telarc sampler and a Chesky records SACD buying this after i got a low-end 500 bucks SACD/DVD-A player.....quality is WOW! Just running it through a Sennheiser HD-600 and class-A SET amp. Just the software "upgrade" brings it up to another league, i'd not have gotten as much a quality bump even if i invest another 5k into better speakers/amp.

Now...where can i get better software? Thanks.

There's a few audiophile CD shops at 3rd and 4th floor of Adelphi Mall. Or Roxy Disc @ 1st floor Roxy Square.

There's a few more shops selling a good collection of SACD but I can't it off my head for now.

HMV sells SACD also. But I think the price will be higher.

Opps....didn't check this thread as I have forgotten about it. Thanks all for the info...

Robert, Pioneer DV-676A, 300 bucks bought at People's Park. So I guess Sim Lim would also have. Make sure it's not "tampered with" you know the tactics some lousy shops employ, but usually not a problem lar. I suspect it's going to be discontinued or something, that's why so cheap. I was originally going for the Marantz's DV6400 (?) in the 5-600 range but figured that i just spend the moolas on more SACDs better (that's where it really counts, the music!).

Kopi is nice. I used to frequent and get lots of CDs during 1995-96 time in a specialist shop found in Excelsior, but that guy wrapped the biz up.....very nice gentlemen there and serves kopi and you can sit there to test 1-2hrs. (coz usually no biz also...hahah). Remember going to Hifi Corner (right?) at Adelphi 4th level corner long time ago.....very impt to try out the discs first, else you know audiophile stuff usually quite yucky.
