    There isnt A90 ...

    Main different is
    A70 >A75>A85, 1/2.7"CCD

    A80>A95 ,1/1.8" CCD, Filp LCD

My first impression when I read the title of this thread was -- this could start a religious war here in CS :P.

But so far, the comments have been quite peaceful. Try doing this in the IT line (try Java vs .NET, Linux vs Windows, etc.) & you'd get flames.

Anyways, if size & convenience is your primary concern, then IXUS 40 would do nicely.

G series is better than A series.

Admit that Ixus models are nice.... However, the camera body heats up easily from what I read in other posts.

Hmm... Seems that A85 is highly recommended. Too bad G2 & G3 no longer in the market except 2nd hands. How long is a camera's lifespan actually and what do we look out for when purchasing a 2nd hand camera??

And the G-Series can attach Speedlites leh. Look out for scratches on the front lens element, any defects, stuff like that. Ask the person why hes selling also.

Must test the camera also, haha. The ixus series only the i ones don't have optical zooms. The rest pretty decent for its size and features. Most of them use SD cards too, if you prefer using CF cards get the A/G series. They also provide more manual features IMO.

'win many brands'?? IMO, that's very subjective.

personally, I find fujifilm consumer digicam's color 'nice' but that's it. if you want me to elaborate further, I will call it oversaturated consumer color that will please most amateurs but not good for actual true color reproduction.

at the end of the day, it depends on one's preference, really.

these days im not in need of a compact cam so never do research on the exact models and they just come out too fast.

s5000 and s70 are good models.
