something to ask, for wedding coverage is a battery pack really a must? Can any battery pack user maybe share how useful is it?
    I am using 580EX.

For me, i covered a wedding without a battery pack on the 580ex. I dont think is a must, unless u are shooting like 3-5 fps? The flash will recharge fast enough. Worse come to worse, if the critical moment is gone while the flash is recharging, just ask the couple to wait for 2s or re-enact the scence again. Also bring a fresh set of battery as this will keep your flash recharging performace at peak level. Hope that helps.

The Metz 60-series mentioned is probably being used in the 'flash-auto' mode, and not any TTL mode.

I use an older 60CT-1, with the external dry-fit battery (no internal battery option), and rely on the on-board flash sensor. Great color from these units!
