Rushed home to grab my gear for a short 45min session at Yishun park.

Probably my best shot for the day.

The capability of the Q with a macro lens never fails to amaze me.
On APS-C, I would have needed a long lens + reversed 50mm and still crop a lot to get near (but still not exactly) this.
And then struggle with the limited range of focusing due to the reversed lens.

But with the Q, its easy peasy....
Just focus at the distance I need.
Far, near, no problem at all.

Jumping Spider about 4mm in size.

Hmm... he looks like a hairy crab... wonder if he's tasty
wah seh . Super impressive sia .....

    this camera still amazes me.

I doubt any system can do this short of jumping into the enclosure with a bucket of KFC for the Baboon.
Yes, if anyone is wondering, its largely uncropped (only 1/10 of the left side for 8x10 ratio)

    No skill and no time.

No harm trying if one is buying the system, has the good long lenses and has a interest in birding, but I foresee 3 limitations :
    1. 1/15 max flash sync speed means on fill flash (sometimes needed)
    2. MF (ie. slower )
    3. ISO best kept to 125-400 to better preserve fine feather details.

But all theses are just 'theories' and it will always be good if someone goes out there, try it out and see if it actually works out.
(same like when all those armchair theorists said this camera CMI due to sensor size)

thought i'ld gave an old thread a bump instead of starting a new thread to share this:

Top 10 best selling mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras in Japan | Photo Rumors (in the month of Oct 2012)

Rank Manufacturer Model Sensor size Share of sales (%)
    1 Olympus E-PL3 MFT 10.6
    2 Sony NEX-5N APS-C 10.3
    3 Canon EOS M APS-C 9.2
    4 Olympus E-PM1 MFT 9.1
    5 Panasonic GF5 MFT 8.9
    6 Nikon J1 1" 8.3
    7 Pentax Ricoh Q 1/2.3" 5.9
    8 Sony NEX-F3 APS-C 5.4
    9 Sony NEX-C3 APS-C 5.3
    10 Olympus E-PL5 MFT 3.5

although it was not well received in some forums, it seems that Pentax / Ricoh understood the Japan market quite well.
