    Default difference between sigma AF 70-200/2.8 macro II EX HSM and APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS

    hi people, i am wondering if any of the seniors here can help me on my decision. i have a d90 with sigma 8-16mm uwa and sigma 17-70mm. I am currently looking for a long range lens and i have been asking around camera shops but all give me different advice. i am choosing between sigma AF 70-200/2.8 macro II EX HSM and APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS and sigma 150-500mm F5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM. Any advice?

    As per title: "difference between sigma AF 70-200/2.8 macro II EX HSM and APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS"

    AF 70-200/2.8 macro II EX HSM -> No Image Stabilizer/Vibration-Reduction
    APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS -> Have Stabilizer/Vibration-Reduction.

    Does that help?

    If you want better advices, you should also state what are you planning to shoot. If birding, 200mm is too short.

    Do not ask shops for advice. They are shops, purpose is to sell. They are not your FOC gear consulting team and hardly any of the sales man is a photographer.
    Read reviews, there are plenty of them online (Google helps to find them). Once you acquired some knowledge, ponder about your needs (not wants).

    Not just that. The APO 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS is much sharper and performs better than the HSM version. The 70-200 OS's performance is almost on par with the Nikon 70-200 VR 1.

    yes bro, was doing abit of read up on the mentioned lenses recently. But I find that ts gives too little info about what he want to shoot with it....so gave the obvious on purpose : p

    To note, sigma 70-200 2.8 os is also sharper than canon's ver 1 also.
